DON SCHMITT - UFO INVESTIGATOR, AUTHOR, & LECTURER
In July 1947, something crashed in the desert outside of Roswell, New Mexico. Headquartered in Roswell was the first atomic bomb squadron in the world. What that object was, as well as what happened in the days following the crash, has been hotly disputed ever since. Did the United States government cover up the existence of an extraterrestrial vehicle? Were bodies recovered from the crash site? Or was it nothing more than the failed launch of a weather balloon? The “Roswell Incident” remains one of the great-unsolved mysteries of the millennium, and a source of enduring controversy.
DONALD R. SCHMITT’s mission over the past 15 years has been to separate science fiction from science fact. Schmitt is the former co-director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, where he served as Director of Special Investigations for ten years. He is the author of dozens of articles about UFO’s, as well as the co-author of two best selling books, UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL, Avon 1991, and THE TRUTH ABOUT THE UFO CRASH AT ROSWELL, published by M. The basis of his research and consultation has been the theme of many well-known documentaries. He has been interviewed and featured on Oprah, Paul Harvey, CBS 48 Hours, Disney Channel, Sci Fi Channel, BBC, The Learning Channel, The Today Show, NBC, ABC News, CBS Morning News, TIME, Wall Street Journal, Popular Science and The Travel Channel to name just a few. In 2002, he and his partner Tom Carey were the consultants on the historic Sci Fi Channel Documentary, ROSWELL: STARTLING NEW EVIDENCE. The two hour special was the highest rated program in their broadcast history. Schmitt also led the unprecedented, comprehensive archaeological investigation of the crash site.

He is presently taking graduate courses in Criminal Justice.
