Pierre Lachance was commissioned by Molson Vancouver Indy to carve an Indy car out of wood in 1996.

The gifted woodworker was commisioned by Molson Vancouver Indy to make the first Indy car cerved out of wood.
Now, he'll be displaying his work at the Molson Vancouver Indy race around B.C. Pa=lace this weeked.
Lachance is widely acclaimed for his skill in fashioning chucks of oak, alder, black walnut into model cars boats and motorcycles.
he also teaches woodworking to teenagers and has donated some of his time-consuming work to hospitalizied children.
Currently the Molson Indy Firestone Firehawk wooden Model replica is displayed at the Agassiz .
