San Jose, California April 25, 2005- HiTech Global Distribution, LLC today announced the worldwide availability of the Virtex-4™ PCI Express “Xpressys” evaluation boards designed by PLDA.

The Xpressys boards are powered by Xilinx Virtex-4 XC4VFX40, XC4VFX60, or XC4VFX100 with 12, 16, or 20 RocketIO™ Multi Gigabit Transceivers, and 41,904, 56,880 or 94,896 logic cells. The Xpressys boards provide one PCI Express 8-lane male connector, one PCI Express 4-lane female connector, two SFP, and two HSSDC2 connectors. The Xpressys boards also provide access up to 512 MB of DDR2 memory.
The Xpressys boards are bundled with a full featured version of the PLD Applications PCI Express IP Core. “Designers can add their own logic inside the FPGA, connect it to our PCI Express controller and benefit from the on-board DDR2 memory and a wide variety of I/0s. Popular daughterboard connectors such as AV Bus can also be accessed from within the FPGA”, said Martin Gallezot, Sales Manager for PLD Applications.
