April 29, 2005 (Press Release) --
How do I take my asthma medicine?
Inhalers are the most common way of taking asthma medicines. There are several different types of inhaler. You may also be given tablets as part of your treatment.
Before changing your medication or being offered new medicines your doctor or nurse should discuss with you how you take your medicines. They should also check your inhaler technique and explain the importance of taking medication as prescribed.
If you find it difficult to use your inhaler, or feel that it is not controlling your symptoms, discuss with your doctor or nurse the possibility of changing to a different device that is easier for you to use.
