May 2, 2005 (Press Release) --
HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Now into its third season of creating a full-blown weekly comedy show with less than two hours to prepare, sketch comedy troupe Fries On The Side has established itself in a new home at The Complex (6476 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood) and on a new night (Sundays.)
Each week the show grows out of fresh, cutting-edge comedy from a small core of regular writers, combined with a wild grab bag of material submitted weekly through the company's website (www.FriesOnTheSide.com.) Then on Sunday nights, less than two hours before the 8 p.m. showtime, the director, writer and performers (some of whom may be performing for their very first time) begin assembling the show.
From the time that casting and blocking of the sketches commences, the actors won't have a break in the action until the end of the show -- with the exception of the performances by a visiting musical act and sometimes a stand-up comedian to give them the briefest of breathers. Fries On The Side utilizes "video prompters", which frees the actors to concentrate on their performance while providing even more of sense of the show being "in the moment" for the audience.
Sketches are as timely as possible, some even written on the day of the show. For audience members who watch and think they can do better, they can get a chance to put their performance where their mouth is the very next week at Fries On The Side.
Fries On The Side appears at The Complex, 6476 Santa Monica Blvd, in Hollywood. Shows are the last three Sundays of every month, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5, with a $1 discount with the Golden Fry Code Word and show Calendar found at www.FriesOnTheSide.com. There is ample street parking available.

What happens when you take dozens of actors, writers and performers into a theatre and put together a show in under two hours? The hell if we know, but it sure is fun to watch!
