In these times of violence and hatred around the world, a new grassroots group is putting forth an old idea — prayer for peace. What’s new is that the international World Peace Prayer group is using the Internet at www.worldpeaceprayer.com to encourage people all over the world to participate. Their goal is for 6 million people to commit to joining this once weekly prayer for peace — all praying the same short prayer simultaneously with a choice of two prayer times. The peace group believes in the power of prayer by many to overcome world hatreds … one individual, one nation at a time. They are hoping to encourage world leaders and people of influence, as well as the average citizen, to lend their voices to this effort.
