May 4, 2005 (Press Release) --
WEST KINGSTON, R.I. – May 4, 2005 – Section8 Networks announced today the launch of its newest website, Epic Mania (www.epicmania.com). Epic Mania is a content site devoted to movies in the epic genre, such as Kingdom of Heaven, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, War of the Worlds, and Harry Potter. It is the first website of its kind.
Epic Mania will offer news, commentary, photos, trailers and other media for films in the epic genre. The website also offers synopses, cast and crew listings, and business data for each movie in its database, and will offer exclusive content in the form of articles and interviews. Epic Mania features a growing community with discussion forums and chat rooms for film and epic enthusiasts.
“Ridley Scott revitalized the epic genre in 2000 with Gladiator, and we have really seen Hollywood take to this genre, with the Lord of the Rings movies and last year’s historical epics, Troy, King Arthur, and Alexander,” says Josh Catone, an editor for Epic Mania and founder of Section8 Networks. “Yet even with the growth of the genre, there weren’t any websites devoted to this type of movie. We’re hoping Epic Mania will fill that void.” The website is launching just in time for two major epics, which hit theaters in the month of May, Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven, and George Lucas’s Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
