May 5, 2005 (Press Release) --
Hundreds of UK women have welcomed a brand new range of cosmetics, designed to suit real women – no matter what their colour.
Real Cosmetics, sold exclusively in the UK by www.kdshop.co.uk is taking the UK by storm with its line of foundations, lipsticks and powders, all aimed at providing the perfect match for multicultural skin tones that other manufacturers tend to forget.
“I have searched high and low for cosmetics that blended well with my skin tone,” says delighted customer Jacqui, who has black colouring. “Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful idea!”
“I haven't even tried any face powder or foundation in over ten years because it is such a hassle to match to my face,” says Neha, who is of Indian decent. “Thank you for existing!”
The message is clear: real women don’t have skin which conveniently matches the colour ranges produced by most cosmetics ranges in the UK. We’re all different – and we need makeup which reflects those differences and compliment them. And now we have it!
Real Cosmetics was founded by former model Lubna Khalid. “Despite our diverse backgrounds and unique experience, women have, for the most part, developed a uniform view of what is attractive, what is sexy, what is beautiful. For most of us, this is not what is reflected when we look in the mirror,” explains Lubna, who developed the range in response to the needs of black, Asian and other women who weren’t being catered to by the existing cosmetics ranges.
The cosmetics available from the range are based around four true-colour undertones, which ensure that makeup looks “real” on every skin tone. “We don't have to pretend that we're all the same colour,” says Lubna Khalid. “Finally, we can embrace our diversity.”
