“I’m so tired of seeing signs and labels printed in other languages,” Jani Zubkovs owner of Bonnie’s Gang recently said.
Jani goes on to say, “We live in America - guess what? We speak English here. Learn English like everybody else.”
Jani’s parent’s both immigrated from Latvia after World War II. Latvia was incorporated into the old Soviet Union, thereby forcing many citizens to leave the country.
“My parents immigrated to the United States - they learned the language - they adapted and went on to become successful business owners. There is no reason to have instructions or signs in any other language but English. Even Home Depot is starting to get into the act. I don’t even like going to Home Depot anymore because they have signs in Spanish.”
