May 24, 2005 (Press Release) --
May 24, 2005 - For Immediate Release
The VIP Consumer is proud to announce the launch of a new web site offering consumer reviews and discussion from a visually impaired perspective.
The web site, www.vipconsumer.com, will be the first web site on the Internet to offer high quality information and advice for the very specific needs of visually impaired consumers.
The VIP Consumer was founded by David Goodwin, who is himself visually impaired. Speaking at an event to mark the launch of the new web site, David Goodwin said "in the United States alone there are more than 10 million blind or visually impaired people. Despite this, there has previously been nowhere on the Internet for the visually impaired to share their very personal and specific views and experiences of products and services, or to learn from the experiences of others."
"We believe that our new web site will enable the visually impaired to become better informed consumers. No longer will they get something home, only to find that it is virtually impossible for a person with low vision to use."
"The prospect of being the first to provide such an opportunity is very exciting."
The new web site will offer visually impaired consumers the opportunity to read the reviews of others on a wide range of products and services, add comments to those reviews, or write their own reviews. For more specific information and advice, the site also offers a lively discussion forum.
For visually impaired consumers in the United Kingdom, the VIP Consumer has launched a dedicated site at www.vipconsumer.co.uk.
