Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Glynn Jackson Productions and The Special Events Company of Washington
AT THE NEW, GRAND WASHINGTON, DC CONVENTION CENTER
Presenting La Pink: The Event
The Event awaits YOU! Our supporters, old and new, are cordially invited to join us for this spectacular celebration. We have several venues on our “must see” agenda. La Pink, The Event will include a salute to survivors. Survivors – those strong, positive, spiritual, persistent, diligent and sacred people whose tenacity and positive mental attitude serves to inspire and motivate us to be proactive. We are ecstatic about our celebration of gratitude for the 25th Anniversary of Glynn Jackson Productions’ over-the-top signature award extravaganzas and numerous successful special events. This segment includes a video montage of the Glynn Jackson Production Company and its stellar legacy in the industry. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, we will pay homage with a tribute and salute to breast cancer survivors who have blazoned a trail to health and wellness proactivity. Performing live will be vocalist, Miriamm Wright. Ms. Wright will perform a compelling tribute in song to our Breast Cancer Survivor Honorees. Her tribute takes on a very poignant, personal perspective, honoring her mother, in memoriam, and her mother’s courageous battle against breast cancer. In honor of LeRoi Carey, preeminent haute couture designer who passed away this year, Glynn Jackson Productions has established and is launching the LeRoi Carey “Threads and Stitches” award that will be presented to one young, aspiring fashion designer who’s work has demonstrated excellence, ingenuity and innovation. The international dance troupe X-Faction will perform on the main stage. A farewell presentation in honor of Thomasina Millner, Supermodel 2004, Adult Category; Laurin Lambert, Supermodel 2004, Teen Category; Shenita Spriggs, Ms. MetroPlus USA 2004. Ms. Spriggs’ personal story personifies the heart and spirit of a survivor. She competed for Ms. MetroPlus for 3 years. An overwhelmed and besieged single parent, Ms. Spriggs went from rags to riches, having once been homeless, on public assistance and struggling to make sense out of her life and implementing changing her circumstances for the better. With undaunted faith and bravery, she rose to the challenges and emerged triumphant.
