Celebrating the blessing of 13 gratifying years, the theme Hairisma, honors and celebrates the spirit, artistry and boundless skills of those Image Makers dedicated to excellence in the industry. The Image Makers’ impetus for excellence via creativity is not money. The true reward and value for The Image Makers is goal accomplishment: pleasing the customer, pleasing the eye and pleasing the audience. That unforgettable look, the glamorous entrance, the enigmatic exit—those are the signature of The Image Makers. Glynn Jackson Productions’ over-the-top hair award extravaganza, presented in part, by Clairol Textures and Tones (4-time Platinum Partner) in conjunction with Organic Root Stimulator; Glamorous Gowns by Glynn; Media Partners, SalonSense, Upscale Magazine, Metro Styles, Hair and Nail Video Magazine and Xtreme Magazine. Congratulations to participants and supporters of the Columbia, South Carolina Golden Scissors Awards Program. We promised to deliver and deliver we did. Columbia received us in grand Southern style and proffered the best of the rest. Preliminary winners include: Stage Presentation Winner: representing the State of South Carolina will be Demetrius and Travis, Essence of Beauty Hair Salon. Vocational Stage Presentation Winner, representing the Vocational Program: Roshunda Daniels of Kenneth Schuler School of Cosmetology and Nail Design/St. Andrews of Columbia South Carolina. The Great American Comb Out Winner, Thomasine of the Kenneth Schuler School of Cosmetology and Nail Design/North Augusta, Georgia; The Total Look Competition Winner, Karla of the Institute of Cosmetic Arts (ICA), Columbia, South Carolina; The Man Hunt 2005 Winner, Tony Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina. The winners will now advance to the National Show celebrating the 13th Annual Golden Scissors Awards Program. Tickets (available online): General admission, $50; VIP admission $150. Doors open: 4:30; Vocational Show: 5:00, Professional Show: 7:00. Although kudos and positive critiques are still coming in, give us your feedback regarding our national television premiere on TV One’s Tangles and Locks: Featuring Glynn Jackson’s Golden Scissors Awards Program, representing The First Hair Show on the National Dial. Glynn Jackson Productions and the Golden Scissors Awards Program are pleased to announce the launch of a national platform called SalonWorks. SalonWorks will be the nucleus for salon stylists, barber shop stylists, salon owners and their respective client/community-base to coalesce in order to provide community service and proactive strategies for health and wellness through communications forums, information dissemination, joint community ventures and consistent community dialogue. The Glynn Jackson Production Company of Washington, DC produces the Golden Scissors Awards Program--the largest and "only" ethnic forum that celebrates hair, fashion, beauty and makeup professionals -- the image-makers behind-the-scenes. This longstanding, magnanimous production is a national venue to which stylists; salon owners, vendors and suppliers participate year after year.
