In a recent survey done in Copenhagen it shows that 95% of the population in this towns thinks that human rights are important. On the question what should be done to fully popularize human rights 55% says this should be done through education and information campaigns.
This survey was done as part of the Youth for Human Rights campaign in Denmark which is sponsored by the Church of Scientology.(www.youthforhumanrights.org)
"By informing youth about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and getting them to understand it, they will become ambassadors for human rights from there on out. And that really is their decision because they understand the importance of it", says Ad Vulto, Youth For Human Rights coordinator in Denmark. " This survey shows how important human rights education is. With growing intollerance on the one hand and no effective measures taken on the other, it is exactly what L. Ron Hubbard said: human rights have to be made a fact, not an idealistic dream. And with this campaign we intend to make human rights a fact for as many as we can reach ", Vulto says.
