Diode's mother died early, her father took the charge of bringing-up and teaching the children. In order to thanks to her father, Diode hold a celebration in 1909. At the same time, thinking of all the fathers' contribution to the family and society, she wrote to a gownsman association, suggesting that the third Sunday of June as Father's day. The association submitted this suggestion to all the associators and passed at last.

In 1910's June, people celebrate the first father's day. That time, people whose father has died adorned a white rose, others adorned a red rose. This consuetude comes down till now. At the beginning, date of Father's day was different from countries until 1934's June. USA congress stipulated that the third Sunday of June to be Father's day.

American pays about five thousand and six hundred million on these gifts to their respective fathers.
