Patent, Copyright & Trademark Law Group Associate Graduates With a Master of Laws Degree
The Patent, Copyright & Trademark Law Group, LLC announces that their associate Olen York is the first graduate of The University of Akron School of Law’s Master of Laws Program in Intellectual Property.
“We are thrilled to have one of our associates be the first to graduate from The University of Akron with such a prestigious degree,” said John Gugliotta, Patent Attorney.
York, an Associate Patent Attorney with the Patent, Copyright & Trademark Law Group of Akron since 2002, has successfully prosecuted more than 30 patent cases. He received his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Akron School of Law in 2001, prior to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Marshall University in 1996.
York currently resides in Akron with his wife, Amy, and their daughter.
The University of Akron’s School of Law LL.M. program in intellectual property began in fall 2004. It serves an increasing demand for law expertise in a fast-growing and rapidly changing area of legal practice. The LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law Program is the only one offered in Ohio and is one of only 17 programs in the nation.
Gugliotta successfully prepares patent applications for individuals internationally, with a heavy concentration on small entities from Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania from his offices in Northeast Ohio. Over the past 13 years applying for patents, he has added expertise in chemical, mechanical, electronic and business systems areas. Gugliotta is licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, State of Ohio Courts, the Federal Northern District of Ohio and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as well as being a Registered Professional Engineer.
