June 22, 2005 (Press Release) --
A computerized and wireless temperature monitor system has been installed for the pharmacy, laboratory, dietary and all other departments at St. Luke's Hospital, a Sutter Health affiliate in San Francisco. Over 180 refrigerators and freezers are wirelessly monitored 24/7, and all staff member in every department can access the temperature data only for their department from their desk PC. Manual temperature logs will be eliminated. Complete, accurate and computerized temperature reports can be ready at any time for JCAHO and DHS inspections. "Other Sutter hospitals have had great success in their JCAHO inspections with CheckPoint, and the cost was very reasonable," remarks Keith Yoshizuka, pharmacy director for St. Luke's Hospital, who spearheaded the installation of the wireless temperature system for every department.
