Rarities at Music Memorabilia Site
Collecting all kinds of items today is a major hobby of many people all over the world. They relive their youth with items that remind them of that innocent period of their lives. Music collecting makes it even more enjoyable because of the joy and uplifting of spirit it provides.
Music Memorabilia (http://www.musiccollecting.com) is a web site that features a large sampling of its 10,000-item catalog. Items are from 1800s to 1980s. This includes sheet music from the 1800s, records – LPs (33 1/3 rpm), 45 rpm, 78rpm) in almost every category – rock and roll, jazz, blues, folk, rhythm and blues-soul, country, world music, classical, opera, big bands, gospel and spiritual, pop, soundtracks, show music, spoken word, comedy, sports, etc. There are also photographs, posters, books, magazines, etc.
African American items include posters of Louis Armstrong, African American dance (Covarrubias – 1925), Paul Robeson LPs, offensive tapestry, sheet music, photographs, jazz art, etc.
LP (Long Playing) records include jazz instrumentals and vocals of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and little known artists such as Chu Berry, Bunny Berigan and Chick Webb. The Beatles, Elvis, The Grateful Dead, Kinks, Janis Joplin et al represent rock and roll. Folk rarities include Woody Guthrie, The Weavers and Pete Seeger. Country music greats feature Webb Pierce, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Sons of the Pioneers. Spoken word rarities are speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, JFK and Sanburg’s Lincoln poetry and prose. Comedy records of Lenny Bruce, Redd Foxx, W.C. Fields and many others are there too.
Thousands of 45rpm rock and roll, rhythm and blues, jazz and more predominate. 78rpm records feature jazz and blues, classical, big bands and vocal rarities.
Tons of sheet music are listed in genres of music artists, films, Broadway shows, guitar-related, cities-states-countries themes as well as political and wars, ethnic titles too. Photographs of Judy Garland, Fats Domino, The Dell Vikings, Bing Crosby are a few of those represented.
