Originates, Inc.™ to debut its first Character toy, the Character Building
Buddies™, at LEGOLAND® California and across San Diego County.
June 28, 2005
Originates, Inc.™ has released its debut product, The Character Building Buddies™. The patent-
pending toy will be available as a special edition at LEGOLAND® California on July 1, and at
select specialty toy stores throughout San Diego County.
The Character Building Buddies™ product is a parent/child interactive learning toy that
encompasses reading, imagination, character development and fun. This hot, new, patent-
pending product is debuting here in San Diego County and is sure to be a big hit nationwide. The
un-stuffed bear that is for purchase is incredibly soft and is stuffed (“brought to life”) by each child
as they fill the toy with six colorful pillow-like pieces. Each piece represents a character trait such
as courage, respect, responsibility, love and caring. An adorably written rhyming guide
accompanies the product and teaches the children about each character trait, as well as
illustrates how to stuff the bear. The bear stars in his own story, included in the
package, to teach the child about the character traits of love and caring. You can choose a boy
or girl version of the story. The stories star a prince or princess, the bear and a dragon.
They are very imaginative, fun and adorably illustrated to capture children’s imagination. The
un-stuffed bear, stuffing pieces, T-shirt to dress the bear, rhyming guide and story are packaged
in a deluxe clear back pack. Once stuffed, the bear fits perfectly in the back pack along with the
stories so the child can take the bear with them anywhere.
The Character Building Buddies™, a “first of its kind” cuddly toy that teaches character, will be
available starting July 2, 2005 at Learning Express in Carlsbad, Thinker Things in Del Mar, and
Geppettos locations throughout San Diego County. A special edition of the product is exclusively
available at LEGOLAND California starting July 1. The Carlsbad-based theme park will be
