60 bright young executives are part of the Post-Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Managers

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) inaugurated its first programme from its NOIDA campus today. A formal launch for the programme was organised at ASSOCHAM at New Delhi today wherein all the students of the First Post-Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Managers (WMP), met with the faculty and the senior management of IIM Lucknow.
“This IIML Initiative is the first from any IIM, wherein another satellite campus has been launched. We aim to develop our NOIDA campus as the most definitive provider and resource of quality executive programmes and corporate training. It is our way of contributing to the industry”, says Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow.
WMP is a uniquely designed programme for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who have a desire to enhance their knowledge and skills in a formal setting while continuing to be engaged in their ongoing professions/businesses. “The programme has been structured to meet the learning aspirations of enthusiastic and bright executives, and hopes to inculcate in them strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of the future’, says Prof. Jitendra K Das, Professor in-Charge, NOIDA Campus, IIM Lucknow.
The WMP will help the students become management leaders and change agents to take leadership roles in the global arena. The specific objectives of the program are to enable the executives to
· Comprehend the meaning of socio-economic, political, technological and ecological environment of modern societies and their characteristic values;
· Acquire the prevailing state-of-art knowledge and skills in the functional areas of management;
· Develop analytical and innovative foresight to gauge change and to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of organisational systems;
· Value societal well being.
The IIML, NOIDA Campus is a totally different value addition experience for the executive participants. First of all it comes from the IIML lineage, which has established itself as a mark of quality. Secondly this institution is being established purely for practitioners. The academic structure has been designed through many consultative rounds within the academia and the industry.
Unlike other Business Schools IIML (NOIDA Campus) is ensuring that its students are given a high level exposure to the contemporary business processes and modern business tools. The idea is to blend the candidate’s rich work experience with the conceptual ideas and strategic inputs for achieving excellent business results.
The IIML (NOIDA Campus) is coming up in 20-acres of beautifully landscaped land in Sector 62 of NOIDA. The campus will have a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, an automated programme office, class room block, furnished hostels with single-seated bachelor accommodation, a large student mess furnished with modern kitchen equipments, a medical centre, guest house, etc.
The library block, computer centre and all lecture halls will be air-conditioned. The campus will also house banks, ATMs, a post office, telecom centre, a restaurant, and a general merchandise shop.
