July 11, 2005 (Press Release) --
Hit shows like NBC's The Contender and Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter have not only generated strong ratings, but also enthusiasm among young people who want to learn to fight.
APEX, So Cal's newest academy has signed uo over 40 new students who are eager to learn how to kick box or wrestle jiu jitsu style. APEX, run by internationally experienced MMA fighter Jeremy Williams, opened his school less than a year ago. For a flat fee, students come to learn Brazilian freestyle Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing. Combining both martial arts trains the student how to fight standing up or on the ground.
"Many people come just to get a good workout and learn self defense and some come to learn skills needed to compete", says owner/instructor Jeremy Williams. Williams says that students range in age from 13-45, male and female, and come from all walks of life. "It's exciting to see the sport get so much recognition from the television shows these days, but there are some people out there who want to learn skills so they can brawl on the street... thats not who we allow to sign up with APEX. At APEX we teach students not only strong fundamentals, but also respect for each other and the sport. APEX fighters that compete have become well known as winners in the ring, and outside as well - in everything they do. Checkout our website and you can see some event photos to get an idea of what I mean, says Williams. Just type in APEXJIUJITSU and you'll find it."
By helping people get physically fit and mentally strong by teaching solid fighting skills along with respect for others, APEX seems like the right medecine for this often crazy world.
