Los Angeles, CA (July 20, 2005) – Hossein Farmani, Chairman of the Lucie Awards and President of the International Photography Awards, announced the 2005 Lucie Award Honorees in conjunction with the 33rd Annual Rencontres D’Arles Festival, in Arles, France on July 6th at the Hotel Calendal cocktail party co-organized by the Lucie Awards and the Rencontres d’Arles organization.
The Lucie Awards recognizes the outstanding achievements of the world’s finest photographers in categories including fashion, advertising, portraiture, fine art, photojournalism, documentary, one humanitarian award and one lifetime achievement award.
The 2005 Honorees confirmed for this year’s Lucie Awards gala ceremony are:

Douglas Kirkland, host of the 2004 Lucies claims, “The movie industry has its Oscars and now the photography community has its Lucies!”
