July 28, 2005 (Press Release) --
SAN FRANCISCO – July 29, 2005 – HandHeld Entertainment, a leader in affordable portable media players like the ZVUE, today announced it has added nearly 1,000 independent “indie” films to its ZVUE movie download service through a content licensing agreement with Undergroundfilm.org, one of the best-known and longest-running indie film sites on the Internet.
The announcement falls in line with HandHeld Entertainment’s plans to launch a full-scale media download service populated with audio and video titles for play on the ZVUE portable digital media player.
“We are adding 1,000 new films to our expanding ZVUE download service to make it easier and easier for ZVUE users to get access to great video content they can take with them on the go,” said Jeff Oscodar, chief executive officer of HandHeld Entertainment. “HandHeld Entertainment has already made similar announcements about giving ZVUE users more content, and there is much more quality content to come.”
The ZVUE gives digital media lovers the ability to take their favorite video, audio and digital picture content on-the-go by simply downloading films and music from the ZVUE download Web site, http://www.zvue.com/downloads/. About the size of a pack of playing cards, the highly portable ZVUE plays full-color videos and MP3 music that can be taken anywhere, anytime.
“The ZVUE can play any one of Undergroundfilm’s numerous movies whether it’s a one-minute clip or a full-length feature film,” said Alexander Cohen, director of Undergroundfilm. “The ZVUE is absolutely ground breaking in that it allows filmmakers and film lovers to carry an entire feature film with them on a pocket-sized video player. Filmmakers get a new way for thousands and thousands of people to see their films.”
