July 31, 2005 (Press Release) --
Shoestrings is a fast paced story of three young people accidentally transported back in time 65 million years ago just as the comet that caused the dinosaur’s extinction is about to happen. The adventure that follows is full of surprises as the children find themselves in the precarious position of either destroying the entire universe—or saving it.
Dinosaurs and time travel have been done to death—but nothing like this. What sets Shoestrings apart is the unusual capsule that transports three children—Kyle age 14, his sister Teresa, age 12 and Sonja, of Eastern Indian descent, also age 12—back in time. The bizarre device is the invention of the children’s fathers, scientists who are unaware their children accidentally stepped into the capsule as it was in the process of being transported. The children find themselves in a world that existed 65 million years ago just before the comet that caused the dinosaurs' extinction is about to hit. They find a dinosaur called a Bambiraptor—an animal that appears to be a cross between reptiles and birds (it really existed!). It becomes their pet. The children narrowly escape the comet's fiery aftermath—thanks to a shoestring!
