Anne Martinez will be hosting an opening reception for an exhibit of the newest works by Emma Gardner at her restaurant in Flagstaff AZ. There will be live Music and deliciouse food by Anne.
Emma has lived in Flagstaff for the last twelve years and has run many of the dessert rivers in the southwest. Her paintings describe the memories she has from many of those trips and allude to the mystical beauty of the dessert where only the hardy survive.
The show features paintings of the Calaveras (skelatons)on the river. Fantastic and colorful paintings where death rides the river.
Inpired by the Mexican Festival Day of the Dead where death is always just around the corner Emma creates scenes of life on a white water rafting adventure through the eyes of the Calaveras.
