The Wraith by Frank Dirscherl is nothing short of an underground craze with fans from all over the world. On August 2, 2005, Coscom Entertainment releases the superhero in book form just before the film, The Wraith: Eyes of Judgment, premieres at the George Lucas-endorsed theatre, the Cinemall.
The Wraith, a tale told in the old classic pulp style of 60’s adventure books and comics similar to Will Eisner’s The Spirit, follows the story of cop Michael Reeve who, through a bizarre encounter with the mysterious Wraith, ends up adopting the crime fighter’s identity as well as that of the Wraith’s alter-ego, billionaire Paul Sanderson.
The movie, The Wraith: Eyes of Judgment, is based on the first part of the novel and on the first two issues of the comics, The Wraith #0 and The Wraith #1 (#1 to be released August 19, 2005, same as the film).
The Wraith novel is the first of two to be released from Coscom Entertainment; the second, entitled, The Wraith: Valley of Evil, is scheduled to be published next year.
What Frank Dirscherl and Coscom Entertainment hope to achieve with The Wraith novel is wider recognition of the character by providing an intense story and characters that packs a wallop, one that could potentially give other wider-known super-characters a run for their money.
Also set to come is The Wraith: Eyes of Judgment, The Official Script Book and Movie Guide from Coscom Entertainment, which contains, among many other goodies, the screenplay Dirscherl co-wrote with director Stephen Semones of Sir Reel Films. The script book is set to be released on August 19, 2005 to coincide with the film.
