Salaam, Shalom, Peace, Pax, Aman, & Shanti:
We are an AJMA, “congregation” of the "People of Peace and Justice" of the "North West New Jersey Peace Fellowship". AJMA is an American association of "the physical and spiritual progeny of the children of Abraham”; Jews, Muslims, Christians, but also Buddhists, Hindus,Sikhs & others building, a Tikkun community in the USA, based on the higher ideals of our faiths and the principles of tolerance & harmony, also embodied in Kabalism and Sufism. We like Rev. Martin Luther King have a dream. We dream of rebuilding the Jewish-Christian-Muslim symbiosis of Al-Andulusia (Spain), the ecumenical harmony of the Ottomans, & Akbar's Mughal India fostering “covivencia” among all communities in the USA today.
Using Gandhi's Non-Violent "ahmisa", our slogan is: Each time there is a terror act anywhere in the world, we form new relationships among our community. We are the voice of Modernist, Westernized, Moderate, Liberal and Enlightened Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims who seek to foster better relations among the children of Abraham and seek to focus in on the positive among our faiths.
We struggle against Anti-Semitism, Islamphobia, Anti-Americanism, Anti-Christianism, bigotry and hatred. Seeking “truth to justice”, we struggle for the civil rights of our fellow Americans.
We visit churches, synagogues, schools, temples and mosques to make presentations and build bridges. We create brochures and do research on subjects. We continue to march for peace. We write letters, and meet with authors and personalities to seek guidance and advice on how to build a better community.
We work at many levels with various organizations that work for peace. Join us if you want to belong to the people of peace, struggling for justice & building harmony among all Americans and forming bridges from our USA to the world.
