The International Photography Awards travels to different photography festivals worldwide introducing the Lucie Awards.

Los Angeles, CA (August 18, 2005) - Fresh from the official announcement of the 2005 Lucie Awards Recipients at the Recontres d'Arles Festival in Arles, France, the Lucie Awards hits the road again heading to Perpignan, France for the annual Visa Pour L'Image Festival. Hossein Farmani, Founder/Chairman of the Lucie Awards and President of the International Photography Awards, will host a party to raise international awareness about the Lucie Awards – an annual gala ceremony that recognizes the world’s finest photographers. Antonin Kratochvil, the 2005 recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Photojournalism, will be present at the party taking place on September 1, 2005 at 6 p.m. at the Hotel Villa DuFlot.

The Lucie Awards party in Arles, France (July 6, 2005) officially announced the recipients of the 2005 Lucie Awards and was extremely well received by the French media, making headline news in Le Provence Newspaper, the 2nd largest newspaper in France. Lucien Clergue, the 2005 recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Fine Art, was on hand to accept the nomination with honor and excitement.
“The goal of these pre-Lucie Award parties is to raise international awareness about this important and historic event, which aims to salute the achievements of the world’s finest photographers, discover new and emerging talent and promote the appreciation of photography worldwide,” says Hossein Farmani.
