FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 20, 2005 -- In Kingston, Jamaica at age 7, Mark Eschoe or Eschoe as everyone calls him, discovered the world of filmmaking after watching the classic Spaghetti western movie “Gunfight at the OK Corral.”
Walking out of the Carib movie theater that day with his father, Eschoe became inspired to make movies.

Now years later, the metro-Atlanta transplant is making an impact in the film industry. As a filmmaker he noticed the need for filmmakers of color to promote their works in the Atlanta area. Dissatisfied with the lack of outlets here in Atlanta, Ga he decided to provide a platform for urban filmmakers. He created the nationally recognized film festival, “The Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival,” which name came from his first short film titled “Spaghetti Junction” and from his love affair with the genre of films called the Spaghetti westerns. Ironically, years later when he moved to Atlanta from New York, Spaghetti Junction was also the name of one of the city’s major highway intersections.

The 4th annual Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival is one of the fastest growing film festivals in the southeast, and, is leading the way as pioneers of the "urban" film festival circuit in Atlanta, GA and has positioned itself as the preeminent launching pad for urban films and to discover new talent in Atlanta.

The Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival is fueled by the recognition that although under-represented in the Hollywood machine, film making in urban communities is big business. Anthony Brown,Coolio, Nicole Ari Parker, Mekhi Pheifer and the late great Ossie Davis have participated and or graced the small screen at the Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival. Eschoe was also successful in bringing the highly acclaimed Jamaican film ‘One Love’ Starring Ky-mani Marley to Atlanta for its US Premier.

The 4th Annual Spaghetti Junction Urban Film Festival is now accepting film submissions for the independent film competition. The Call For Entries period is April 17,2005 – November 3,2005.
