The University of Edinburgh has just implemented Kx software to manage all of its student accommodation and conferencing activities.

Edinburgh not only manages a massive student accommodation portfolio – 2,700+ self-catering rooms, more than 120 self-contained flats, and 1,940 rooms in halls of residence – it also operates an accommodation, conference, dining and function network called Edinburgh First. The conferencing activities include 38 en-suite bedrooms and 21 meeting spaces accommodating 10 to 400 people for year round letting, together with dining for events, and letting out student accommodation and university meeting spaces out of term time. An operation this complex needs flexible and powerful software, and Edinburgh wanted to be able to manage, view and control all of its activities from one source. Kinetic Solutions’ Kx software provided that opportunity.
