A long-time American comfort food favorite finally becomes available to consumers across the U.S. Augustina’s new website, in conjunction with GourmetFoodmall.com, will feature it’s signature gourmet dessert item, Augustina’s Brandied Cinnamon Bread Pudding.
This dessert has already gained a loyal following among many consumers of fine foods in Phoenix, Arizona, where the company is based. Born out of love and passion, Augustinas Cinnamon Brandied Bread Pudding was created by restaurant owner Veronika Augustina Luko to satisfy her husband's fond memories of bread pudding he had as a teenager. They decided to place it on the restaurant menu in 1991 and soon afterwards made it available for retail purchase at A.J.’s Fine Foods, one of the premier purveyor’s of fine foods in Arizona.
“As soon as we first introduced it at the restaurant, we were flooded with compliments from our customers. Our desserts have always been popular, but none have generated the level of responses we received with the bread pudding,” says Steve Luko, owner of Crackers & Co. “We knew that this item would stand out from the rest, so we decided to market it to a larger customer base than what we were getting at our restaurant by retailing it at A.J.’s Fine Foods.”
James Magda, Operations Manager for Crackers & Co., says that he has looked all over the Internet for other sites selling bread pudding. Says Jim, “Most of what we’ve found on the Net is recipes. If you actually just want to purchase a ready to eat bread pudding, there are very few sites that even offer a finished product, mostly they’re just recipes.”
