August 25, 2005 (Press Release) --
The United States government and media is launching an all out assault on a democratically elected leader with the support of the vast majority of his people.
His name is Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela. Venezuela is the 5th largest oil exporter and they use the revenue to fund social programs such as free health care and education for the poor and continuing care for new mothers.
The MSM and far right is claiming Chavez to be a ruthless, murdering dictator without offering a shred of evidence to their statements.
In fact, all evidence points towards Hugo Chavez being a stabilizing factor for Latin America. They love him down there.
Initially there were claims that Chavez dealt with Iran. But little does the public know, so did our Vice President, Dick Cheney, while CEO of Halliburton.
Halliburton has sold Iran key nuclear components, yet still receives no-bid, multi billion dollar defense contracts.
A petition has been started at http://www.crispyclean.com/chavezpetition.html
as of late night on the 24th.
When enough names are gathered, the list will be mailed electronically and by snail mail to every U.S. Senator and House member as well as the President.
It is our primary right to make our own decisions and so far I have seen no proof to come to the conclusion that Hugo Chavez is a bad guy.
