August 25, 2005 (Press Release) --
Phoenician to Present at International Conference
Phoenix, AZ: Don Myers of Phoenix will have the advantage of sharing his experience as a grant writer with other grant writers from throughout the World when the American Association of Grant Writing Professionals meet in Paradise Valley October 26-28. Myers, an author and educator, heads RCS Grant Writing Systems, a company he founded after 20 years with the Arizona State Parks Department managing grant requests from municipalities and other agencies. Throughout his career he has evaluated more than 10,000 grant applications and has trained more than 3,000 people on how to properly apply for grants.
Myers is scheduled to speak at 10:15 am on October 27. The conference is being held at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort.
His presentation to the international conference will focus on “Grant writing from the Evaluator’s Standpoint”. He will explore the tremendous impact that the people who evaluate grants have in the process. He will teach techniques that will be accepted by evaluators in a much more positive manner, resulting in higher scores and the better possibility of obtaining grant funds. There are billions of dollars in grants available for practically anybody and everybody and Myers wants to help everyone get their share.
Following his career with the state of Arizona, Myers founded a consulting company, Rural Consulting Services, to help out-of-the-way municipalities, counties, and private groups to properly apply for grant monies. After he developed what he calls his “system”, he decided to put it in seminar form and offer it at one-day seminars across the country. The company name has now transitioned to RCS Grant Writing Systems.
In addition to his on-site seminar, Myers has produced a book “The Joy of Writing Grants” and a DVD which features innovative and proven techniques to improve anyone’s skills in preparing more successful grant applications.
“I am truly honored to be invited to present to my peers,” Myers said.
But who better than an evaluator to teach those who are writing grants for evaluators.
For those who are not members of the association, Myers will be presenting a workshop September 28 in the Phoenix area at the Fiesta Inn, 2100 South Priest Drive, Tempe.
