August 26, 2005 (Press Release) --
Palo Alto, CA: It’s time to go back to school, and the Kelly Blue Book affirms it again- it’s great to drive back in a Honda!
The 2000 Honda Civic is the #1 parental choice in the “Back to School Poll” by kbb.com, the Kelly Blue Book website, and the kids approve. The Civic is #3 in their list, ahead of Toyota Corolla and Toyota Tacoma.
In California, andersondirect.com is offering a convenient internet sales process to shop Honda vehicles, including the Civic. Students and their parents doing last minute shopping can expect fast and free test-drives and special prices. Call (800) 349-4011 or visit www.andersondirect.com for more details.
Kelley Blue Book Marketing Research administered the back-to-school survey on kbb.com between August 12-15, to 399 parents and 509 students aged between 16-25 years. While parents focused more on vehicle functions and safety, the kids leaned towards sporty 'cool’ cars. 23 percent of parents chose a 2000 Honda Civic as the number one car they would prefer to see their kids drive, from a list of eight popular vehicles including the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Tacoma. An affordable price-point and popularity among kids and parents were important factors in listing these eight vehicles.
This year, kids and their parents are spending up to $34.4 million in back-to-school purchases, according to the National Retail Federation. Up to 47% of back-to-school purchases are happening online, and a car is one of the priorities.
