AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL
Dealership expresses gratitude for loyalty of its Chinese–American customers
SAN FRANCISCO, August 31, 2005 – As part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the local Chinese community, San Francisco Honda today announced it will join in sponsoring the 15th Anniversary Autumn Moon Festival, to be held on September 10th & 11th, 2005. The Moon Festival, as it is commonly called, is presented by the Chinatown Merchants’ Association.
“San Francisco’s Autumn Moon Festival is one of the most important celebrations in the Bay Area,” said Don Tena, President and CEO of San Francisco Honda. “We are proud to support the Chinatown Merchants Association, and by extension, the preservation of this important Chinese cultural tradition.”
Tena says the decision to support the Autumn Moon Festival was an easy one. “Beyond customer service comes community service. San Francisco Honda is proud to be a dealership that the local Chinese community has trusted with its business for more than three decades,” said Tena. “We want to give something back to the Chinese community, and are more than happy to do what we can for the Festival.”
San Francisco Honda’s sponsorship of the Autumn Moon Festival marks the beginning of a renewed relationship between the dealership and the San Francisco Chinese community. In addition to community service, San Francisco Honda has sales representatives on staff waiting to assist customers in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Autumn Moon Festival Coordinator Eva Lee said, "We sincerely appreciate San Francisco Honda's sponsorship of the annual Autumn Moon Festival, one of our community's largest and most cherished annual celebrations."
All sponsor funds like those remitted by San Francisco Honda are allocated toward the enhancement of the Festival experience for visitors and locals alike. The Autumn Moon Festival, the largest celebration still held in Chinatown proper, requires that much cost, planning, and effort go into assuring that street closures, crowd control, and temporary tourist village construction and dismantling are handled smoothly.
