August 31, 2005 (Press Release) --
Latin label, Morusa Records has joined the support effort to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina by donating 100% of the profits from all CD sales to the American Red Cross.
"We've been in this situation before; once again we're using the power of music to assist people in desperate need of help," says Morusa Records president, Adrian Martinez. "Katrina has really devastated many lives and we in the music community must act quickly to provide relief."
"Many of our fans are from that region," says singer/songwriter, Plissken, "there's no way we're going to let them down."
CD Baby, who distributes Morusa Records music, has set up the website with the approval of the label to donate 100% of the proceeds to the American Red Cross.
"It's a win-win situation," says Connie Mendez, manager of Morusa Records. "It's an incentive for people to get a music cd while the American Red Cross gets 100% of the profits that will help them with relief operations."
