The open Portable Document Format (PDF) developed by Adobe has become the de-facto standard for forms on Windows, Mac and Linux. PDFs are popular because they result in a safe and much more compact document, maintaining the original layout. You only need a free PDF-reader like "CAD-KAS PDF Reader" or "Adobe Acrobat Reader" to display the document on your PC. These readers are available on most computers or can be downloaded off the web for free.
Christian Kassler states: “Adobe’s costly Acrobat Professional offers only minimal post-editing features”. His company CAD-KAS sensed a huge opportunity, selling "PDF Editor" with a wide range of post-editing features at a fraction of the cost.
