(Free-Press-Release.com) September 6, 2005 -- Gilbert Labour, Life Coach, dedicates the second World Make Your Own Burger Day to assist the victims of the New Orleans disaster.

I created this day in 2004 for the innocent child victims of the Beslan violence in Russia. On this day I asked people to forgo a bought burger for one made at home and requested the difference in cost (no more than $3) to be forwarded to their favourite charity for the children victims of that violence.

I now rededicate this day to the innocent child victims of the recent catastrophic storms in New Orleans, most of them poor, defenceless and without visible means of support.

Unlike 2004 when I requested that donations be made to your favourite charity, this year I will be taking a more active role in the fund raising

and distribution by requesting donations be made to me via a properly audited account for use as the need arises in New Orleans. With damage estimated at $100 billion dollars it is fairly easy to see that government funds will be insufficient to meet the needs of all the victims especially the younger victims of the storm.

The purpose of this day is to focus attention on what we can do, however small, to help the victims of this storm. Why the humble burger? Because it is simple to make, can be meat or vegetarian, and much cheaper to make at home compared to one bought outside. The difference is small for each burger but provided a large enough number of people forgo just one burger on the day it could make a difference to the lives of these children victims who even before

these incidents were marginalised and mostly living a life on the edge of poverty.

Why 2nd October 2005. It is a Sunday and probably a day for casual eating out which is not as extravagant as Saturday. Why this day organised by a life coach? Because in normal circumstances a child would not be able to afford the insight, guidance and support of a life coach but this is a small contribution to the children who have suffered enough. Even if only one person makes a donation of $3 it will make a telling statement and send an emphatic message that we care.

Please note no funds given will be used for administration or any other overheads associated with managing and distributing this donation. None of the funds will be used to stand in an account gathering dust and not be distributed. I will not draw a salary from the funds. All funds gathered will be distributed to those in need and I will personally meet out of my own funds all overhead, administrative and travel costs.
