September 19, 2005 (Press Release) --
JetSpeed’s own Nixon Nation Performing to Benefit Hurricane Katrina
September 14, 2005—Not only does the band Nixon Nation have an immense amount of talent, but their hearts just as big. Nixon Nation is reaching out to those who suffered in Hurricane Katrina by playing in The Big Easy Benefit Concert. The tickets are $10 each and all proceeds are going to benefit the victims of the hurricane. Nixon Nation’s debut performance in Baltimore will be on September 23rd at the House of Rock in White Marsh, MD. The Big Easy Benefit Concert is being sponsored by a local Baltimore radio station, 98 ROCK and by Starleigh Entertainment. Nixon Nation is composed of three talented musicians:
Kevin M. Thomas on lead Vocals and Bass,
Josh Miller on Guitar and vocals, and
Billy Esposito on Drums and Vocals
They will be playing with a string of other bands as well, such as: No pets for Noah, Fire Within, Adam From Vs. The Earth, Queen Pin, Mean Motor Scooter, Ben From Hectic Red, and Jimmie from Jimmie’s Chicken Shack.
More than just a radio sound, Nixon Nation’s music rocked on a couple of MTV Networks/Spike TV reality series; “Tripped Out” and “10 Things Every Guy Should Experience.” Their Jetspeed Records debut CD titled “13 Songs,” was recorded by an award-winning music production staff led by Gold and Platinum Producer David Morse (Guns and Roses, Incubus, & Motley Crue).
Although Nixon Nation has influences coming from all sorts of different bands like Nirvana, The Beatles, KC And The Sunshine Band, and Iron Maiden; they have produced a sound that is uniquely their own. Just by listening, anyone can hear their passion for their art. Vocalist Kevin Thomas says, “I just love music, I mean, it’s just a matter of passion and emotion, and it really doesn’t matter what kind of music…”
Their different creative forces come together to form an exciting, heart racing sound that stays with you, even after their songs are over.
“…of course the music is all important, but it also means you gotta get out there and, you know shake hands and kiss babies, and just reach out and touch everybody and show them what you have, and build up all sorts networks throughout the world, and I think that is the key to making something successful.”—Kevin Thomas
