September 17, 2005, the first Ms. Christian International pageant was held in Stroudsburg, PA, and Tamika Johnson of Worton, Maryland, walked away with the crown! Johnson, just twenty-five years of age has built an empire focused on empowering women! Holding a degree in Theatre and Hispanic Studies from Washington College (Chestertown, MD), Tamika has worked as a professional actress and now uses her theatre skills as a professional speaker. A survivor of dating and domestic abuse, Johnson is the founder and president of Forever A Conqueror Productions, a motivational speaking company specializing in bullying, dating violence, domestic violence, and discovering one’s personal best. She is also the founder and president of the Christian Network Against Domestic Violence a nonprofit organization dedicated to “empowering victims, educating faith leaders, and eradicating domestic violence in the Christian home!”
Twice, Johnson has lobbied the United States Congress for Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act meeting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Singer Michael Bolton, and Actress Erin Gray. She has worked as a domestic violence counselor, legal advocate, and drug and alcohol prevention specialist. She just published her first book entitled, “He Loves Me Not, but I Love Myself! A young woman’s guide to understanding and conquering dating violence.”
No stranger to the pageant world, Johnson has competed in many pageants including the USA and America systems, and has held numerous titles, judged, emceed, and now coaches pageant contestants through her communication consulting firm Communication Excellence! Johnson is also the founder and Director of a new pageant system, Miss Christian United States Pageants and is very excited about the impact pageants will have on women around the Country. Young women ages 5-29 will have the opportunity to compete for: Miss Christian United States Princess (5-8); Miss Pre-Teen Christian United States (9-12); Miss Teen Christian United States (13-18); and Miss Christian United States (19-29). The winners will receive free entry into the 2007 Miss Christian International Pageant along with an array of other prizes.
