Author seeks ghost stories for paranormal book. Phantom Felines and Other Ghostly Animals: True Accounts of Animal Apparitions and Hauntings

Have you ever had a personal encounter with the ghost of a deceased pet or other animal?
Gerina Dunwich, a popular New Age author and paranormal researcher specializing in animal spirits and hauntings, wants to hear from people who have.
She is currently putting together a new book about animal apparitions and inviting people to send in their true ghost stories about cats, dogs, birds, horses and other animals to be published. The stories can be about the ghosts of pets, livestock, or wild animals, encounters with animal spirit guides, a house or area haunted by an animal ghost, local legends involving any type of phantom animal, paranormal investigations, possessed animals, persons possessed by animal spirits, etc.
Tentatively titled, “Phantom Felines and Other Ghostly Animals”, this compilation of animal-oriented ghost stories is scheduled to be published by Citadel Press (an imprint of Kensington Books, New York) and will be available in bookstores in the fall of 2006, just in time for Halloween! All contributors to this project will receive a byline and a bio (unless, of course, they indicate that they wish to remain anonymous).
“Spirits and haunted houses have fascinated me since I was a child,” says Dunwich, “and one of the things that I enjoy the most is reading a good ghost story…especially if it’s factual.” She also says her interest in animal spirits developed when she was living in a haunted house in Upstate New York and witnessed a phantom feline firsthand. She also claims to have had numerous encounters with a supernatural bat. These accounts will be included in her book.
GUIDELINES
Stories can be chilling, sad, heartwarming, or humorous. Please give as many details as possible. You may submit as many different stories as you wish. Previously unpublished stories written in either first person or third person are preferred. Each story should be between 300 and 1000 words, and may be submitted via Microsoft Word or typed within the body of an e-mail and sent to: gerinadunwich@yahoo.com (Be sure to include your name and a short biographical paragraph with each submission, along with any websites or business addresses you wish to have listed in the book.)
Contributors who prefer to submit their ghost stories the old-fashioned way, via envelope and stamp, can send them (typed and double-spaced) to the author at:
