September 21, 2005 (Press Release) --
Mississauga, ON – Sept. 22, 2005 – Psion Teklogix (LSE: PON), a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging and RFID, and Ship2Save, a leading provider of logistic solutions for the transportation, manufacturing and retail industries, today announced that Ship2Save has joined Psion Teklogix’ Ascent Partner Plus Program. The partnership allows Ship2Save to extend Psion Teklogix’ complete range of mobile computing solutions to the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market, with a focus on delivering affordable, flexible RFID capabilities.
At the heart of Ship2Save’s RFID offerings is the Operation Management System (OMS), an intelligent middleware solution that extracts data from RFID devices, filters the information and pushes relevant data into other applications for additional analysis. Integrating Ship2Save’s OMS with Psion Teklogix RFID-capable mobile computing devices provides customers with additional data collection options for all types of environments. Psion Teklogix offers integrated RFID capabilities in its 7535 and netpad hand-held devices, as well as a tethered RFID reader designed for a variety of Psion Teklogix vehicle-mount or hand-held devices.
“More small to mid-sized businesses are seeing the value of end-to-end RFID solutions,” said Rob Douglas, president, Psion Teklogix Americas. “Ship2Save has developed a high-quality, cost-effective solution specifically aimed at these businesses, and we’re thrilled that together we can provide a complete RFID data collection solution that scales to meet the growing needs of the SMB market.”
“We decided to participate in the Ascent Plus Partner Program because of Psion Teklogix’ unrivalled reputation for building rugged mobile computing devices that work in the harshest conditions, such as the cold storage environment,” said Sam Falsafi, director of business development and RFID strategy, Ship2Save. “This partnership enables us to provide customized RFID and mobile computing solutions that drive savings and improve performance across the supply chain.”
