September 21, 2005 (Press Release) --
TEMPE, Ariz. – Following the success of SunCor Development Company’s first Hadyen Ferry Lakeside office tower, construction began recently on the 12-story phase II building. At completion, it will feature 300,000 square-feet of Class A office and retail space. The nautical design theme found in the first building is carried through the second tower, with the façade featuring a sapphire blue, acoustically engineered glass skin and below-grade parking. The building is scheduled for completion in February 2007.
“The second office tower will be located west of the existing eight-story office tower and is intended to further enhance the mixed-use development with workspace that has become highly-desirable since completion of the first tower,” stated Buck Yee, principal and project director at Phoenix-based DFD CornoyerHedrick, the project architect. “The intention is to create a setting for vibrant urban life through live/work/play functions in the development.”
The architectural massing of the towers is both sensitive to views of the Butte and Mill and yet distinctive enough to further create a landmark symbol. The architecture and color of the buildings were inspired by the lakeside location, Yee said. The state of the art office space includes a top-quality telecommunications infrastructure, acoustic engineering to minimize noise penetration, high-efficiency building envelope, special interior lighting for computer workspaces, a flexible and efficient floor plan and extra floor-load capabilities.
McCarthy Building Companies in Phoenix is the project contractor. Jim Fijan and Jerry Roberts of CB Richard Ellis, are the exclusive leasing brokers for the office tower.
