Sharmy Pandey the upcoming young and alternative film director from India has just finished her short film on loneliness. This nonlinear film is based on an extract of her bengali novel 'Hriday maaranor sukh o a-sukh'. While in conversation with the Graffiti team in Kolkata she said 'Eklapon, the protagonist of my film ' 29 minutes of loneliness' is basically a loner, who thinks that being together is also a way to being alone. He is a man without any digit of identification, without any job, without love, happy with his loner-ism, as if he is just an observer, walking down the years, days and nights, with an emotional heart and a comfortably numb mind'.
The film will be all ready for its world premiere in the later part of this year.Like her much ovated first short experimental film 'Ebang Falguni', '29 minutes of loneliness' will also be shown in BYOFF the beach film festival in Puri,India in February 2006.The Asian premiere of the film will be in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The date and venue are yet to be fixed.
