(Washburn, Tn.) Scott Rogers, the handicapped hiker who gained national attention last year as he set out to become the first above-the-knee amputee to hike the 2,178 mile Appalachian Trail, completed the trail on September 21, 2005 at Harpers Ferry, W.V.
"It feels great to finally have it behind me." said Rogers of completing the trail. "I've had many wonderful experiences, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world."
Rogers dedicated his hike to 10-year old Lane Milliken of Indian Mound, Tn. Milliken had his right leg amputated in 2004 following a 1998 accident involving a lawn mower.
