New Website for Immigrants Arrives; Book is Coming Soon
New York, NY -- October 18, 2005 -- Immigrants celebrated like never before! New NY Crossroads brings together the whole picture of immigrant life in America. Traditionally, immigrant sites deal with services and referral information. New NY Crossroads does this and more. In addition to services, events and links, the world will be able to share in personal and authentic stories of immigration as told by those who know best.
What do immigrants need most when they arrive? Education, jobs, housing, medical insurance, just to name a few. But what about their personal experiences, their surprises, their highs and lows? New NY Crossroads offers a place for new Americans to post the story of their immigration experiences. An easy to use form allows visitors to answer pre-selected questions or simply write their own story if they choose. The form is easily mailed to the web developer via a submit button at the bottom of the form.
There are other exciting ways for them to share themselves with the world. New NY Crossroads has an Arts Center that encourages anyone to post their artistic expressions relating to the immigration experience. Music, fine art, lyrics, poetry, creative writing, essay, etc. are all accepted and posted.
And New NY Crossroads goes even deeper. This warm and inviting site is poised to develop into a major research center for immigration, humanities, diversity, and ethnic studies. The "Diversity" link allows visitors to post their presentations, essays, teachings and other educational materials to share with educators, enthusiasts, scholars and the curious.
Perhaps the book, however, is most anticipated. Well known Turkish author, Vedat Akman and co-author, Richard Holley, are currently writing a book that includes these intimate and authentic stories. These talented authors will draw from the stories to enlighten us to the importance of connecting to other human beings, the spirituality of success through perseverance and ultimately the miracle of tolerance and acceptance as we've never read it before. This exciting book will be available in early 2006.
A message from author Vedat Akman:
"Please continue to enjoy our website, www.newnycrossroads.com, and share with us the growth and development of our book.
