“I enjoy participating in this program because it enables me to provide encouragement to students and it gives them a glimpse of marketing in a real world sense,” said Brown. “I like to think that I am helping students transition from college to their career.”
Brown was the “Professor for a Day” at the Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing on Tuesday, October 18th. She discussed unusual sponsorship opportunities, sales promotion techniques, managing publicity and usage of technology in advertising. The “Professor for a Day” program is an event held once a semester in which Brown regularly participates. Cathy Martin was Brown’s host professor.
“The students seemed eager to learn from professionals who are already in the field,” said Brown. “I enjoyed meeting some of the young talent that is preparing to enter the workforce. It gives great promise to the field of marketing.”
