Some American corporations and individuals purchase renewable energy through their local utilities and by acquiring Renewable Energy Certificates “REC’s”. The purchase of renewable energy by business has been a driving force in the growth of renewable energy generation in the United States.
Until now, with the introduction of the OurEnergy program, purchasing renewable energy through the local utility or with REC’s was the only option for business and individual consumers. The OurEnergy program is the next step in energy choice and more specifically the generation of domestic renewable energy for homes and business operation. Through the OurEnergy program every individual and business consumer is able to turn everyday online expenditures into clean domestic renewable energy generation through merchant contributions.

Communicate to all employees your company’s voluntary participation in the OurEnergy program which benefits the company with REC’s at no additional cost. It is an easy way to “Green” operations while enhancing the overall corporate environmental commitment and retaining revenue for other purposes.
a. Each employee that participates = approx 750kWh/year of REC’s for your business
2. Incorporate the OurEnergy program into the existing purchasing your company and employees currently do online. Both centralized purchasing and individual corporate purchasing can have a tremendous impact on the amount of renewable energy for your company.
How to get started:
First, register as a user and select an energy supplier of your choice, the OurEnergy program supports all Green-e certified renewable energy suppliers.
Second, if registering as an organization, decide on a common name for your business that will be entered into the organization field on the registration page.
