November 5, 2005 (Press Release) --
www.travelandtransitions.com educates and encourages visitors with quality articles and interviews on how to explore new horizons, to get out there and discover the world - locally and abroad, to connect with people from different cultures and to open themselves up to new experiences. In addition to providing practical money-saving tips and destination information, this website intends to foster tolerance and understanding for people from other places and other cultures.
Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market is a treasure trove of culinary delights and historical significance. Built in the mid 1800s at what was then Toronto’s waterfront, this historic building was originally built as Toronto’s city hall. Among other functions it also housed the men’s and women’s jails and was reincarnated as a market in the early 1900s.
Travel and Transitions publisher Susanne Pacher participated in an entertaining and informative tour led by renowned Toronto historian Bruce Bell who provides fascinating insights into early Toronto society and political events. The tour starts at the St. Lawrence market hall where participants get offered a variety of delicious free samples from some of the market vendors. The tour then proceeds to cover St. Lawrence Hall (another former city hall of Toronto) and Toronto’s famous St. James Cathedral. For complete coverage including photos of this experience visit http://www.travelandtransitions.com/stories_photos/hello_st_lawrence.htm.
