November 10, 2005 (Press Release) --
The StopCV method does not require the job seeker to have Curriculum Vitae (Resume or CV) or any referees.
First let me explain about referees. Referees are chosen by the job applicant and when they do not have one, the applicant will use a friend.
The business is not getting any information of value from this practice. This reminds me of a recent situation where an employer was having a lot of trouble getting rid of a useless worker, and when that worker came to the employer and asked if he would be a referee. The employer smiled and said “Yes, I am going to be the best referee you ever had”. A week later this employee had a brand new job! A fine bit of refereeing that was!
Curriculum Vitae create even more problems, many of the top professionals being hired for high paying jobs do not even write their own C.V. They hire someone to do it for them! Those that cannot afford to hire someone, usually refer to a book to write their own. People can become overwhelmed with the books examples, which are all perfect of course. So they start adding, to varying degrees, a few extras to their own C.V. In some cases this leads to ordering fake qualifications, such as degrees, off the internet. Finally when the best Curriculum Vitae are found and the people have been interviewed with such questions as “Why are you right for this job?” (The answer to this question, I would suspect, is written in every job book on the market). Someone will be hired!
The business now ends up with very little achieved from their hiring process and ultimately relying on good fortune that the person they have hired can do, let alone do well, the job they have been hired for.
This article has only begun to explain some of the problems. If you would like further information, or you would like to read about some of the solutions, please visit me at http://www.StopCV.com
