GrabJPG is a tool for searching and downloading images on the web. The tool aims to provide all one could need for fast finding and downloading images.
What does one do when looking for a specific picture or set of pictures? Usually the search start at a search engine and goes from there into sites related to the subject. It can take a while and usually involves visiting quite a few web pages. GrabJPG automates that process. Instead of having to visit and read all kinds of web pages and search results yourself, it will be done for you. Results are filtered on criteria you set and shown in a gallery.
The aim is that you don’t need your web browser anymore for finding images and that all what you need is in one tool grouped around your search results. Besides entering keywords and let GrabJPG search you can also spider web pages or entire websites. Here the more experienced user can easily start a session that for example takes all images from the sites on a certain Yahoo-directory.
GrabJPG doesn’t open web pages and surely never executes any script on a web page. It just scans for links and for images. Pages are read, not shown, scripts are read, not executed. By just not executing anything GrabJPG offers a high level of security. One can safely extract images from websites without the risk of getting harmed because of yet another security leak.
